About the event

We are delighted to invite you to the museum to share the results of our Arts Council funded scoping project, which has brought together top heritage experts to scope out the potential audiences and business opportunities of the Maritime Isle project.

Our vision is that Maritime Isle will become, under the aegis of the Classic Boat Museum, a working maritime heritage yard for Cowes. Part museum, part skills workshop, part waterfront attraction, part community place, part events destination, and a living demonstration of the Island’s continuing relationship with the sea.

We will be joined by Dr Matthew Tanner, our lead consultant and best known for SS Great Britain in Bristol, and our own Dr Victoria Preston. There will also be an opportunity to explore the Medina Village (former J.S. White Engineering Yard) to appreciate the development potential of the site.

Please join us on 1 September 2026 when we will report on the findings of the project and with your input set out the way ahead for this exciting project.

Places are strictly limited so please register early to avoid disappointment.
