The 'Shed' hosts the Cowes Classic Boat Week Tuesday prize giving

It was a wonderful evening at 'The Shed' with Cowes Classic Boat Week competitors.

The event supported by Red Funnel the Royal London Yacht Club and Classic Boat Museum volunteers was the first opportunity to open the doors of the museum to a big crowd!

After the prizes were given away by Kevin George the Chairman of Red Funnel the museum's doors were opened for all to see and what an amazing transformation by Mark McNeill and his team.

Mark McNeill, Chairman of the Museum commented, " It has been a great evening for the museum and we are so pleased that Classic Week competitors were able to come along for their daily prize giving and combine it with a bit of a party! Many thanks to all the museums helpers, contributors and supporters and, of course, a big thank you to Kevin George and Red Funnel for making the evening such a success"

Mark also announced that a magnum of Champagne would be raffled to all who were able to go online and make a small contribution to the Museum during the next week.

The 'Shed' as it now known is almost directly below the Hammer Head crane and the old boat sheds nearby have been made water tight and secure to house over 50 amazing motor, sailing and lifeboats collected by the museum over the last twenty or so years. The Shed also has one of the latest foiling catamarans from the British America's Cup team headed by Ben Ainslee which is already a modern classic.
